End of the Year Check-in

Spring is definitely in the air! With all the year end events, students are certainly beginning to get excited. However, we still have five more weeks of school left and much testing still to complete. We'd appreciate it if you could have a conversation or two about school and learning expectations as we close out this year. Please encourage your child to continue to stay focused on doing his/her best work, persevering through difficult challenges socially and academically, and staying the course through the end. We thank you for your support in helping your child finish the year strong.

M-STEP Testing

Technology issues have been fixed and we are set to get back to Third grade M-STEP testing on Monday. Here is our schedule for testing this week and next week. If possible, please schedule appointments around these times.

As we prepare for our M-STEP  tests to begin this week, we would like to make you aware of important information regarding technology. Please note that during the M-STEP testing, all electronic devices, including cell phones, smart watches, and Bluetooth headphones (or any headphones not used for testing), must be turned off and stored away from the work area.

Because of this, we encourage you to keep phones and smart watches at home on testing days. If your student brings one of these devices to school, the device should remain in the backpack and be powered off. Any devices that are not in backpacks will be collected by the teacher and stored in the teacher's area until testing is completed.

Thank you for your assistance with this matter.

There is really no way students can "study" for these tests, but you can help your child be ready for these by:

  • Making sure your child has a good night's rest.
  • Making sure your child eats a healthy breakfast.
  • Providing a positive send off to school in the morning.
  • Not scheduling appointments on these days.
  • Encouraging your child to try his/her best!

Multiplication and Division Facts...ICE CREAM!

Our next multiplication and division challenge continues...ice cream!  Please have your child continue reviewing their multiplication and division facts.  The ice cream challenge will be very similar to the pizza challenge we did in January, but instead of slices, students will earn ice cream scoops and toppings. We will celebrate everyone's hard work learning their multiplication and division facts with an ice cream party at the end of the year. :)
