Snowshoeing at Sarett

Due to the weather forecast later this week (rain!), we have changed our Sarett trip to this Wednesday, January 24th.  We will be leaving in the morning to hopefully experience some snowshoeing! We will depart Lincoln at 10:00 and return at 12:30 in time for lunch. This was a gift left to us from the tribes that were in Michigan long ago.  Please make sure your child is here on time and dressed appropriately for the weather:  boots, snowpants, hat, gloves/mittens, and a warm coat. Parents are welcome to join us, but you must drive separately and meet us there at 10:30 am. Let us know if you have questions!

Mid-Year NWEA Testing

Our students will continue taking the mid-year NWEA tests this week. We will be taking the NWEA Math portion on Tuesday and Thursday.  Those needing to finish a test will have time to complete these on Friday.  These are the same tests given in the fall and spring and are used as a measure to check growth. There is no need to prepare at home other than to discuss the importance of good test taking skills: taking your time, doing your best, staying focused, eating a good breakfast, drinking water, etc.

Pizza Multiplication

We have been working very hard at learning many different strategies for solving multiplication problems. We are continuing to work on memorizing multiplication 1-10 facts.  This week we will be starting a fun incentive to learn our multiplication facts. Students will be  working to earn a pizza party. For each multiplication level they pass, students will add another piece to make a whole pizza.  Our pizza party will on February 14th, the same day as our Kindness Party.  Please have your child continue working on their facts at home.  Learning their multiplication facts will be key to their success in math.
