UPDATE: Nutcracker Performances
Our third graders are delighted to perform the Nutcracker for you on Wednesday, December 20. Students will be performing for our Lincoln School community that morning at 11:00. Costumes are needed that day at school. Please check with your child to make sure they have their costume on or packed for school that day.
Our evening performance is for families and all are welcome. Lincoln's performance begins at 5:00 at the St. Joseph High School auditorium. Doors open for the evening performance at 4:30. Enter through the auditorium entrance and follow the signs to get your student to the right location. Students may ride the bus from school directly to the high school to help with transportation. Please complete this form so we know what the end of the school day plans will look like for your student.

Unit Tests Next Week in Math and Science
We will be wrapping up our unit on addition and subtraction within 1000 this week and will be testing next week. In this unit, students use place value understanding to round whole numbers and add and subtract within 1000. They also represent and solve two-step word problems using addition, subtraction, and multiplication and assess the reasonableness of answers. Here is a family support guide for you to take a peek at to help your child at home. If you read and scroll to the end, you'll see a short "Try at home" section.
We will also be finishing up our science unit on "Fates of Traits." A test will be given next week on this content as well. Watch for a study guide to come home later this week. All of the video lessons can be found in our Google Classrooms.
We realize that next week is going to be very busy with all the holiday festivities and the unit tests. These tests are over content that we have been working on over the past weeks and should not require a great deal of studying at home. However, we do share this information so you can check in with your child and do some preparation at home. Additionally, you can help at home by keeping your schedule and routines as consistent as possible as we wrap up this calendar year and head into winter break.

Classroom Wish List: More Tissues Needed
With the fall/winter/spring weather smorgasbord, we are "blowing" through tissues rather quickly. If you happen to be out and about, please consider picking up a box of Kleenex for our classrooms. Our noses thank you!
Cold Weather
Now that we are getting into colder weather patterns, please check the weather so that your child has the necessary clothing--boots (when there is snow on the ground), hats, coats, and gloves/mittens--to be going out for recess. We do go out most days unless it is raining or below zero wind chills!
